Driver Record

The CHP requires our school to hold enrolled participants driving records. Note that the driving record must be printed within 30 days, so depending on your course length you may have to provide two reports.

Simply follow the link to the DMV website below, create an account, if you do not have one already, and pay the $2.00 fee to obtain a copy of your record. Please provide a copy to the school as soon as possible.

Hazardous Materials

You should apply a for HAZMAT endorsement if you have a state-issued CDL and you are required to transport materials that require placarding under the Department of Transportation hazardous materials regulations.

To obtain the endorsement one must:

  1. Pass the Theory Examination with the school.
    • You must obtain a score of 80% or better on the test.
    • Your passing test results will be submitted on the Training Provider Registry.
  2. Schedule an appointment with the TSA to get your fingerprints. Online, or call (855)347-8371
  3. Visit an application center to pay the fee, and be fingerprinted.
    • The fingerprinting fee is currently $86.50, but pricing may vary.
  4. The DMV will get the results from the Live Scan Fingerprinting electronically and you will receive a letter stating that they receive it. You can call the TSA office to check on the status.
  5. Take the Hazardous Materials endorsement exam at the DMV. The exam is only available in English.

Note: Verify with a school representative to see whether or not the fingerprinting cost is covered by the school, if it is, please bring the confirmation email to the main office location, and we will issue the check to be used for the scan.

Checks will be made out to: IDEMIA

We will not issue a check for the HAZMAT until the participant has passed the Skills Performance Exam and obtained his/her license.

TWIC Card

The Transportation Worker Identification Credential, also known as TWIC®, is required by the Maritime Transportation Security Act for workers who need access to secure areas of the nation’s maritime facilities and vessels.

To obtain the TWIC Card one must:

  1. Take the Hazardous Materials endorsement exam at the DMV. The exam is only available in English.
  2. Apply.
  3. Schedule an appointment. Online, or call (855)347-8371
  4. Visit a TWIC application center to pay the fee, be fingerprinted, and take a facial photo:

  6. You can have the card be mailed to your home address or you can pick it up at the application center.
